The role of Metaverse applications in enhancing educational outcomes in Universities: A critical review
Abstract
With the rapid development of information technology, metaverse technology has emerged as a modern solution that can be effectively employed in university education to enhance the learning experience and foster interaction between students. This research aims to review metaverse applications in universities and study their impact on the educational process. It also examines the challenges facing metaverse technology through a critical review approach. It becomes clear that the metaverse contributes to providing interactive educational environments that stimulate creative thinking and improve the learning experience through virtual simulation. However, universities face several challenges when implementing the metaverse, such as technical, administrative, ethical, and health challenges. This requires providing a strong infrastructure, specialized training programs, and procedures to ensure the effective use of this technology. The research recommends establishing clear policies for implementing the metaverse in universities and providing resources and training to ensure maximum benefit from it in improving the quality of educational outcomes.
